The 2nd International Conference on Natural Computation (ICNC'06) and the 3rd International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD'06) was successfully held under the organization of Xidian University from September 24-28, 2006, at Xi'an Tangcheng hotel.
ICNC'06-FSKD'06 provided a high-level international forum for scientists and researchers to present the state of the art of computational algorithms inspired from nature, including biological, ecological, and physical systems. ICNC'06-FSKD'06 received 3189 papers from 35 countries, and finally accepted 419 after careful examination by experts home and abroad.
 
The joint conference played an active role in enhancing the fame and expanding the impact of Xidian University in this area, and especially in driving the rapid development on the research on and the application of intelligent signal processing.
